Okay, let's try this again. Looks like some sort of server issue wiped out my first upload of this.

So I spent several weeks thinking about a caption for this, and I realized yesterday the problem I was having was that I was dead set on Nui being the dom, but it was hard to come up with a situation where she would actually hypnotize someone and not just torture them. That kind of seems more her style :/

I also have a hard time writing hypnosis scenes so criticism is greatly appreciated. More KLK to come, hopefully.

Well, you beat me to making a manip of her. Overall, I'd say the text and spiral eyes are pretty good.

Thank you! Yeah to be honest putting Mako in this kind of situation feels pretty weird, but I liked the source image so...

She is very pale. Is this intentional? I know that the Anime has some weird coloring (allthough I dropped it after 5 minutes). Also, the color of the font kind of confused me, because it's rare for me to use a blueish color for a sub and then an even lighter/more girlish color for the dom. I would have used at least a purple for the dom while using a more girlish one for the sub (possibly her hair color? It stands out the most, maybe even brighten it a bit to match the general whitishness of the image). But that's just my preference and how this image works on my.

The overall image kind of draws you to her shoe and the hair (because of the livelyness of the color and the paleness of the rest). I am not sure why this is done - any explanation?

The paleness isn't deliberate on my part. I noticed that as I worked on this image, and while it kind of bothered me I ended up overlooking it. As you can see at the source, the original image is slightly better balanced due to her eyes also being brown, and having it on Pixiv's white background provides less of a contrast that the black one we have here; that said, the extreme paleness is certainly part of the source image. Why? You got me. (It's also easier for me to ignore because I use an app on my computer that tints the screen at nighttime so it's easier to fall asleep; this also drives up the contrast on my screen and makes the image look better balanced. Wasn't even thinking about that as I did this, haha.)

As for the text colors, well, this is the actual appearance of the unseen dom: www.pixiv.net/member_illu...um&illust_id=40349207 She's girly as hell, and I'd chosen the spiral color with her image in mind and wanted the text to match. That said, she also has significant purple motifs, so that probably would have worked just as well. I've used hair color for text coding in my manips before, but I didn't put too much thought into the sub's text color. I just saw blue and was like, "oh, pink and blue? That works."

Colors are a tricky thing. In certain images they can convey the whole feeling/impact of an image and draw you to certain points of it. Outstanding Anime, Mangas and movies do this a lot, but you won't often recognize it if you're not conscious of it. I personally wouldn't manip that image because of the points outlined before, but if you chose to do so, you have to be very conscious about how people will feel about the overall image. A good trick is to look at the image very close up and a few metres away from the monitor.

Looking at every part by itself and then the whole picture in the end, helps you pick out flaws. You can also see this in most media out there. Take your favourite scene from a movie for example, close your eyes and just listen to the music and speech - then watch the whole scene muted, then both together.

Well - this may be a bit much - it's porn after all, but that's what I try to do when I am manipping a picture. ^^

That said I don't feel it being a bad manip or having any big flaws, it just doesn't have an impact on me.

All I really care about in my manips is the writing; the manip I consider to be the best one I've done has no alteration to the image itself. Problem is, I think flaws in the presentation end up distracting people from the writing every time, so maybe I'm missing the forest for the trees. Besides, my goal in my manip text is to make something that's strongly connected to the canon of the series the picture is form, but is still fully accessible and appealing to people who've never heard of it. If it doesn't move you then I'm not doing a good enough job :p

I'm actually kind of upset because I wanted to wash my hands of this after spending so long thinking about it, but now not only am I revising the text in my head, I'm also thinking of ways to make the presentation better, haha ;p Was thinking of putting a frame around the image, actually, I saw someone do that recently and I really liked the way it helped stabilize the presentation.

I once had the same Idea (kind of) by making a picture fit into a cellphone (it's basically the whole frame idea, just more modern). Never used it though, but can work in certain situations, especially when using the phone for the MC or if you somehow build a story around it.

BIG-ASS SPOILERS, DO NOT READ IF YOU AREN'T CAUGHT UP ON KLK

Recent developments have torpedoed my plans to do Nui x Everyone... Not that I have anything against yuri incest as such, but the entire character dynamic just changed for me :\ Suddenly she's the creepy little sister and not the creepy adoptive aunt.
