People have been tagging female furries as [animal]_girl, so here I went [animal]_boy, but I'm not sure it's such a great strategy long-term. e621 (the furry booru) just tags the animal, and it's not like there's a whole lot of MC pics with genuine dogs and bunnies and whatnot to the point where searchers would often be looking for a specific pic and be annoyed by all the furry false positives (they could just -furry anyway).

This is absolutely too lewd! I don't even particularly like manips, but furry ones do a lot for me still. Maybe just them being a little less common.

I agree that the extra tags aren't necessary since we already tag genders and furry.

e621 tag counts:
gay - 41,651
lesbian - 11,636
straight - 53,676

However these numbers are misleading because a huge number of straight pics are not tagged straight, probably because straight is assumed as the default.

We get better numbers from male and female tags:
male - 200,330
female - 246,657

Let's assume for simplicity that no females appear in gay pics and no males appear in lesbian pics. This leaves 105,002 male and 181,345 female unaccounted for. At the very least we can conclude that the most common type is either non-lesbian female (i.e. mostly single-character images that are definitely not yaoi) or straight. A cursory sample of pics tagged with "sex -gay" reveals that somewhere around 1/3 to 1/2 of straight sex pics are not tagged "straight", while hunting the results for just "sex" for gay pics reveals that almost all of them are tagged "gay". So, most likely #1 is solo female, #2 is straight, #3 is solo male, and #4 is gay.

And no, I have no idea why your offhanded joke comment actually drove me to do this pointless research.
