Today was the birthday of a friend so he asked me to do this.

And now I know I will get lot of rage for saying this but I gotta let it out. Although Nezuko is cute beyond measure, I simply don't understand Japan's obsession with kimetsu no yaiba. I really don't get why is this so popular to the point they made season 1, movies, and now season 2 and specially so fast. I feel that there are plenty other anime that deserve an S2 more than this and even some light novels that didn't get an anime adaptation. Go ahead, throw your rocks at me but I really don't get this anime. It feels a little too dark at times and seriously boring/dissapointing. It wins points because it's done by ufotable, but at the same time loses points because ufotable (seriously, I love the art this studio uses for it's anime, but demon slayer got a hold of it now and it can't focus on producing other series). In the end, maybe I am just weird, but not everyone has to have the same taste. Ooof. Had to get that off my chest. Sorry for the rant.

I can't say I can comment too much cause I haven't even seen a full episode but I will admit it's just blew up like instantly. More of a flash in the pan than anything especially being the only movie even out last year.
It's funny too cause apparently the manga already had like 20ish issues and was already wrapping up plus the main guy in the dub is voiced by the dubbed voice of Koichi from Jojo so can't take him too seriously. But ya that's my random thoughts lol

It's a very overrated generic shounen. Many of the characters are plain annoying, and some of the sayings and thoughts are laughable (I'm the oldest son LMAO).

The ufotable animation didn't shock me either as Kara no Kyoukai is one of my favorite series, so I'm long used to it.

garden of sinners is very old and while it does look good, ufotable evolved since then and became even better so i don't you can say that.
also, it's not a generic shounen but a new-age shounen. generic shounen would be mha or black clover, where you have a lot of filler, a lot of characters and a simple main character. new shounens have less filler and those go for a more complicated story and characters. i agree that some of the things in demon slayer are annoying (god knows how much i despise zenitsu) but it does have good writing, especially for tanjirou and for the demon's backstory
1
