This is the biggest problem I have with haigure. It's not just that it looks ridiculous, it's that, 98% of the time, it doesn't look like MC at all. I'm personally in favor of making a rule for haigure or for body control pics in general that outline specific criteria they have to meet to be posted. After all, I remember how many haigure threads there were on Hypnochan, and I'm pretty sure I can count the number of pics in them that looked like MC on just my fingers.

Is RWBY really all that great? My old college buddy recommended it, but it's dubbed and i justify my continued daily anime as helping me with my japanese, so it would have to be "really" good...
It's not dubbed it was never Japanese it was made by Rooster Teeth the same company that created the popular web series Red vs Blue

Well, RWBY is made by an american company so of course it's dubbed.
As to wether or not it's a "Good" dub well, that's a harder question to answer. See, Roosterteeth, the company that produces rwby, does almost all of their Voice acting using their own employees, some of whom aren't Voice actors by profession. Basically, except for 2 or 3 cast members, most of the VA's for rwby are either not originally actors or don't have any notable roles under their belt. I'm making it sound alot worse than it actually is though. For an amateur cast, the acting is actually pretty decent. Not great, but decent. Although, if you just don't like watching anime in english, RWBY won't really change anything.
As for other aspects of the show, This season is mostly just meant for setting the stage so not that much really goes on and it's mostly build up for season 2. Animations is, much like the voice acting, average at best unless there's a fight scene. The Soundtrack is Godlike, tho. Even if you don't like the show, definitely check out the ost.

RWBY isn't even an anime. It's a Webseries done by an American team that draws most of it's inspiration FROM anime (the other source being fairy tales). Story wise it is a bit weak, but it is just starting out. The animation can be a little stiff outside of fight scenes as well, but the music is amazing.

RWBY is in a weird position for me. I love the designs and I love the fuck out of Rooster Teeth, but as other have said the animation is kind of bad and the voice acting can be pretty terrible at times (i.e. Michael Jones' character at the end of Season One).
But, just as RvB's animation got better, hopefully in five years RWBY is the bomb with animation.
