It's got it's appeal like this. The merciless countdown, her final panic being cut off like nothing, the real casual way the auctioneer announces that she's about to become a mindless piece of meat, it's good shit. I just wouldn't erase her at all, though.

You make a good point. Maybe the image is fine the way it is. I just usually prefer a slow erasure/brain drain when it comes to stuff like this.

I think the moral quandary a lot of us are having can be described as follows: we're into the totality of erasure as a concept, but not the permanence portrayed here.

But the long-term isn't something we have to think about in fiction, so why not admit we find it at least kinda hot?
