I thought it was literally just the Japanese word for Hermaphrodite, with a more direct focus on biological sex and genetalia? And from what I was aware, it's not mutually exclusive with an individual's gender. First I'm hearing of it being used as a slur too, though I'm certainly not surprised to learn such. Appropriated words being used for hate speech sucks for pretty much everyone involved, especially once it becomes common enough to fundamentally change public perception of the word.

bc of its focus on genitalia and not on gender it assumes that genitalia=gender, and hermaphrodite isn't a word that's applicable to humans, and was originally meant for animals that have male and female anatomy for reproduction like snails. im very pleasantly surprised that people on here are responding with understanding to the situation about the words being used as hatespeech/slurs 030 i was a bit scared coming onto a porn platform like this, with myself being lgbt, but you all are very accepting and it makes me feel welcomed ^^
