Okay so not to be that guy and just completely miss the point but imagine how frustrating this would be in an actual game. You grind all the way to level 99, and then three random level 10's just ambush and OTK you before you can act and steal your items and levels. Yes, I know it's not at all important to this context, but I couldn't help thinking about it. Either way nice art.

belive me as a Final Fantasy Veteran I feel you, i mean back in the day when aerith was my highest level character

haha, it'd definitely be frustrating for an rpg. maybe it could happen in a roguelike where you're meant to start from the beginning when losing? either way: i think the idea of the comic, that was lost in the process a bit, is that the girl Helen is actually 'in' the game and her mind is being affected by some malicious program or magic using the game mechanics to get her.

Shin Megami Tensai 3: Nocturn. In the later two thirds of the game the enemies would use an insta-death attack with increasing frequency, and if the MC died it was game over. If you didn't learn the skill that protects you from insta-death you were pretty much screwed.
