I hope you didn't just rightclick + "Save as" before saving the image. Stash has a weird behavior where it will sometimes error when clicking the download button while it also doesn't show you the fullsize image instantly instead you have to click the image to have it enlarge to different zoom factors until you reach fullsize.

Or log into DA and then it will not error.
