It depends. Either to clearly portrait the controller as a villain, to make the fall from grace even harder (which is undeniably a big part of mind control) or because that's how the author looks like.

It's never fully explained. I do know Nyuu had a kinky/lewd unreleased romantic comic where a hot looking blonde guy mind breaks his newly wed. But as far as I know it was never released. I think his whole analogy is that "If an ugly bastard can do it, so can you!".

Granted his original characters (i.e. Hitomi, Adachi, Megu ect) and or female designs are fantastic/beautiful but every hypnosis comic he's ever done features an ugly bastard. Only a couple aren't ugly bastards. Just overweight men. I wish they weren't always ugly bastards but if that what Nyuu wants to do I guess it's his decision.

People complaining about Ugly Bastards is interesting in itself, it shows were some people's attention are directed towards in this picture.My attention was directed towards Akari's expression tho.
