I had a similar such item in a game called the "Chains of Command." Very similar mechanic for dominating the will of its targets. I got to keep my brain because I didn't struggle against my captor's orders, to her annoyance. She was surprised when I stole the key and she woke up bound by the chains. I've wanted to apply similar intelligence and will draining suggestions to a subject, associated with resisting... one day maybe...
