I'm no expert, and the history of the character is actually super complex due to nonsensical reasons, but isn't Poison like, either Trans or just a really dedicated crossdresser? Like, they tried to justify "hitting a woman" in the original English release by saying she was actually a man, and different incarnations of the character deal with the fall out of that decision differently.

What I'm saying is I distinctly remember years ago some people getting concerned the Futanari tag would be used on images of Trans and GNC characters and the mod staff saying it wouldn't be.

The word Capcom used to describe Poison is ニューハーフ (newhalf), not trans. Calling her trans just because she looks like a woman and has a penis is headcanon, whether or not that's what you would like the character to be.
The tag that should be used for her is "newhalf".
Also, please don't link fandom as a source, that's like linking Wikipedia as a source except a million times worse.
