Hmm. Didn’t she have a commander she was in love with? And if I remember right he’s dead. Or maybe the baby Metroid. Metroids are pretty good at killing. And she was obsessed with it in that one game. But Zelda looks slightly more movie doc so maybe movie thanos

Those would be the two worst ideas. Adam was explicitly (to a PAINFUL degree) made out to be a father figure, not a love interest. And the infant Metroid imprinted on Samus, thinking she was its mother. So Samus being in love with either would be... really gross.

Not to mention Other M is a literal abomination that takes a huge dump all over Samus' character, and the less it's referenced, the better.
