To whoever tagged corruption, they haven't been corrupted. Their minds are seemingly completely blank since at no point to they seek or act without orders.
In the show, the Big Bad gave random people magic powers through a website (using demons) as part of his evil plan. One such guy was a creepy voyeur high schooler who gained dark magic he eventually used to mind control these two girls. Sadly, the mind controlling happens off-screen, so we only see them after they've been brainwashed and redressed as pictured above
I think it's a shame, I watched the whole series a year ago just because of this image, but I was disappointed with so much wasted potential, it's not shown the girls being controlled, it's not showing them being used, obeying various orders, just quick and frustrating scenes for me.They look very cool, but unfortunately underused, if I had more free time I would do something about it. I do agree, Lobotomist, that if you watch it for this scene alone, you'll just get disappointed. Maybe it was different in the novel? Though it also makes sense, as these two are just the heroine's girl posse, as opposed to major characters.
