Personally, I don't blame them. Alliance characters are easy to launch, and Horde characters are hard to launch, Blood Elves in particular. I loved the worgen starting questline, and that was my warlock about 3 years ago. He's level 50 something now. Maybe 60, but I'm not exactly sure.
