I have a feeling that should be chesh and the white rabbit, not door mouse and the March hare

hmmm, you may be right, it's definitely more cat-like than mouse-like, and is patterned more as the movie cat, in retrospect - I guess I just thought that hatter, hare, and mouse made sense as a group.
The hare, on the other hand, doesn't seem to have the accoutrements of the rabbit; vest, time piece, or glasses, leaving me to think it's the hare. We actually had a picture with a listing of march hare which I changed to white rabbit for those very reasons
