If memory serves, this game had a "Trance" mode where your character would float and glow and get major power buffs when one of their gauges maxed out or something. It was like a combination of Limit Break and Mega Evolution.

You are correct, the only problem with it was you had no control over it and you'd sometimes get these huge buffs during random battles where they'd be useless.

Yeah there really wasnt much of a hypnosis aspect to trance mode. It was really just limmit break.
