Well he is the most well recognized of hypnotic snakes, so him being used so much is probably more a result of popularity rather than a desire to have more snake representatives. Since his modus operandi is so simple and established it is basically impossible to make any other kind of hypnotic snake without it being compared to him it might as well be him.
