Story from commissioner Goddamn_Bats: ..'Almost got it...'
Yoko the young wizard otter strained with concentration, willing her magic to work. There was a warm glow around her and a spark, then nothing.
'Phew, this is much harder without a wand' she sighed to herself.
As part of this evening's homework, she needed to prepare a self constructed spell and channel it herself, no wand, no staff, no nothing... And it was hard!
She'd put it off and put it off and now here she was at bedtime, in her PJ's, sitting on the floor, trying desperately to come up with something.
She was tired and stressed, part of the problem was she had no inspirations what to do.

She looked around the room... dishwashing spell? Nah. Floor vaccum charm? Boring.
What she needed was something bright and pretty for a good grade, her witch teacher Ms Takes would like that.

Idea.. idea..hmm. Yoko glanced down at her PJ's and saw... the star picture on it, she'd seen the bright star a hundred times before, but it WAS pretty.

How about that? Yes. A pretty glowing star would do the job to show in class tomorrow. She closed her eyes, took two deep breaths and let her mind float

'Ok', Yoko thought, 'let's do it'... 'like in class, concentrate on the form and mold the magic...' (it's late, I'm tired.) She scolded her inner thoughts - 'No, concentrate on molding'..

Yoko pushed her hands out in front of her and felt the familiar rush of magic from her fingertips. Eyes still closed (boy she was tired) she concentrated on molding the magic into the shape a star (as soon as this works, I'm going to bed), trying.. to focus...the.. (sleepy, rest) magic.. with... Just her mind.

BZzt... with a warm shock that ran from her fingerclaws up her arm, Yoko knew the spell was done. She opened her eyes and floating just in front of her was a vivid yellow, lightly glowing star - "Eeee!" She squealed with delight, clapping her paws together, tiredness fading away with her joy - it looked just like the one on her PJ's - sucess!! She leaned back in her beanbag and looked fondly at her handiwork

The Star came closer as she leaned back, Yoko lifted her palm up towards it and the star mirrored her movements. 'It's exactly what I need for class', she thought - 'Now I can go to bed and relax'. With that thought, she clapped her paws together to disapparate the star, same as she would with a wand creation.

But the Star didn't disappear. Instead it came closer to Yokos muzzle and started glowing more brightly. She wasn't worried, it couldn't harm her physically and would fade in time (it being a non permanent charm), but she was curious why it hadn't vanished.

The star seemed to indulge her curiosity and started bobbing around in front of her, zipping up and down in an unpredictable manner. All the while glowing Brighter. And pulsing steadily.
Yoko leaned closer to see the phenomenon, her attention drawn fully towards her creation.. her paw uplifted as if to try and touch it when it happened.

The Star started spinning, slowly at first... the glow was brighter now. Yoko's eyes were captured by the slow spin, her curiosity immediately turning to fascination.
The Star picked up more spinning speed at a steady pace, throwing off small sparkles that glowed and faded as they fell from it edges, like whoops form a glowing sun.
Yoko couldn't look away now, she hadn't been prepared for this... how WONDERFUL it would look.. how warm it would make her feel inside...how heavy it made her eyes to watch, but how she didn't want to/wouldn't/couldn't look away.
She was getting sleepy again, but that feeling was far away, buried beneath the wonder of the glowing star... dancing just for her, helping her relax and let go... it was just what she needed.
