So I'm considering getting this game pretty soon. But is there any mind control in-game besides the main character being possessed by the crown?

If so I may have to accelerate my purchase.

You by default are indoctrinating people into your cult.

Later in the game there is a Brainwashing ritual, powered by taking mushrooms. This locks faith for a time, but afterwards leaves everyone sick(bad trip),

If people dissent, you can imprison(Once you get the prison) and Re-educate them.

Not bad, but the reading order of the bubbles isn't clear. The standard is left-right, top-bottom. In this case, with it going lamb-pig-pig-lamb, the pog's bible should be placed in between the lamb's two bubbles, assuming that is the correct order. The way it's presented gives the impression that it's to be read lamb-lamb-pig-pig.

I think you can negate the chance of sickness from the brainwashing ritual and even have your followers get a faith boost by declaring the "Substance use encouraged" doctrine.
