She's the first in the action/combat magical girl tradition that's most popular with Western fans, anyway. Noncombat magical girl series tend to get ignored, but they did and do still exist.

I really like the whole, looks like a screenshot from an anime thing going on. Makes me wish that there was like an entire anime centered around an individual mind controlling cute/attractive girls.
