Oooo, I remember really liking this back in the day

So basically the show itself is about a bloodline being constantly hunted by yokai, with their main form of defense being a fox deity protector that can shapeshift. In episode 3, the fox deity fights off a group of yokai, while the MCs school friend who were not supposed to see anything, see it. So the fox deity simply hypnotizes her to basically forget what she saw

To add to what Latios said, this isn't even the last time there's hypnosis in the show. If I recall correctly, there's at least 2 more examples in the show that are extremely similar to this, including one where she uses it to go to an all-you-can-eat buffet. Don't quote me on that tho, it's been absolute ages since I've seen this.
