Its dumb we got Tim Daly and Kevin Conroy as Superman and Batman in this movie but not Michael Ironside as Darseid

Also, was Supergirl actually being controlled in this movie? I thought she was just being tricked and its not really mind control/corruption?

She was being controlled, yeah. There's a bit later when Batman gets Darkseid to let her go that Kara visibly comes out of his control.

Dont quote me on this cause I might got my facts mixed up.

The animation studio that made THIS movie in particular made Netflixs She-Ra 2018. Same specific animators too.

But this movies animation quality aged like fine whine while She-Ra 2018s animation quality aged like cheap beer.

Both are well written and lol ironically enough both shows have mind control sequences.

But I find it odd that this movie has better animation quality than the She-Ra 2018 series.

I wouldn't call it fair to compare a multimillion dollar DTV project to a show on a TV budget. I find it interesting how WB made these for rental stores like Blockbuster and transitioned into streaming.

@/MesMezZ Well yeah it IS unfair but at the same time it's a real brain scratcher for me.

WB & Dreamworks has collaborated before yes? Most of their animated movies & shows are outsourced to studios in Korea including this movie and She-Ra 2018 the series. So not only are most of the animator are the same, but so are the storyboarding artists too. An Netfix was giving the production team for She-ra 2018 some resources.

What I'm getting at it, how come Superman & Batman: Apocalypse has better animation quality than She-Ra 2018? Cause whoever did the writing & characterization for She-ra 2018 really did great work, there's even a mind control plot in it too. But the issue is that it' poorly animated.

idk how to describe it like- I don't want to sound like a petty "sakuga" (high quality animation) fan but like I said, the show was outsourced to-

similar eastern studio a this Batman & Superman movie here. And over the years other cartoons get outsourced to eastern studios but they've come out with better quality than She-ra 2018.

And lastly I'll say, if someone responds with "Well She-Ra 2018 has good animation quality, wat are you saying?" What I'm "sayin" is that it doesn't and if it did then I have no clue why no one bothered to post it on animation forums or idk "Sakugabooru" or animators on Twitter at the time posting their "works" on the series.

Going back to the series having a "mind control" story arc, the writing is good but the way the characters were animated lacked weight/motion, it's a total downer to me. She-Ra 2018 deserves better. Sorry for ranting/venting.
