In case anyone is wondering what the context is since this is a old anime that will unfortunately never be completed due to the death of the author:
These two girls are brainwashed by magic as a result of an arc where some evil mcbadguy uses his powers to turn real life into an MMORPG where regular people can "level up" and gain magic spells. One stereotypical "creepy fat-otaku" dude gets high enough level to use brainwashing magic. He of course uses it on cute girls who are friends of the main character. Drama ensues.
From what I recall, it appeared to be the "blank doll" type of mind control. The girls think and do whatever creepy fat guy tells them to think and do and have no sense of self awareness. When main character saves them from the brainwashing by defeating creepy fat guy, they black out and can't remember squat.
It's an alright anime, a bit dated by todays standards. Only get into it if you are OK with a story does not conclude. There's always a small chance of another season, but it would be an anime original end as again the author of the light novel has passed away.
