Oh boy. Here it is. My least favorite episode of the XY series.


Rant incoming:
The Malamar subplot is so bad but the characters except for Ash & Meowth are so dumb that they couldnt just idk look AWAY from the hypnotic light?! Come on!

to be fair, "couldn't just look away from the hypnotic thing" applies to many hypnotic reps in media... and like 10% of the images on the site lol

@/IDPet Good. Im glad it got canned. And believe me folks theyre other story arcs in XY that are pretty awful but that subplot bothered me the most. I wish itd never happened but whatever.

Personally the concept of the Malamar thing could be interesting, but damn, they wasted a good idea with Malamar, finally something about an evil pokemon and stuff, but the series just forget about that like a GS Ball.

@/IDPet But what bothers me is how the characters were written in such a arc with the Malamar.

Like I said, all they had to do was NOT look at its hypnotic light. I think the Pokedex that they used in said episode said it has the ability to mind control and they saw the effects of it.

Just dont look at the light. And what does Serena and the others do? Look at the light. Uuuugh.

Sorry again for ranting I was doing some XY rewatches and Im gently remembering that stupid episode.

@/Mindwipe I'd rather not get into a "Sub vs Dub" flame war but I prefer the Japanese dub tbh.
