- Give it 8 charges but make the spells cost charges equivalent to their slot, so:
-> Feeblemind (8 charges)
-> Dominate Monster (5 charges)
-> Crown of Madness (2 charges)
-> Sleep (1 charge)
-> I mean, otherwise why would you ever use a charge to cast a 1st lvl. spell like Sleep when you could also be using that same charge for an 8th lvl. spell like Feeblemind
- I would give the enslavement process some actual mechanics, so it's not just DM fiat. I'd do it like this:
-> Each nightfall, the wearer must make a DC 15 Wisdom Saving Throw against the corrupting influence of the armor. Each failed save moves the wearer's alignment from Good to Neutral to Evil. Once the wearer has reached Evil alignment, they become a souldead drone (mm p. 213) and an NPC under the DM's control.
-> Each time a spell is cast using this armor, the Wisdom Save DC is increased by 1.
The flavour I'd let be as it is. Also, this is all pretty hot!

To what book is "mm pg.213" referring to ?
It isn't p.213 of the 5e monster manual and I don't remember anything like it in 3e.

Love the changes though!
@Hypnolion Sorry there isn't anything relevant on pg 213 of the Monster Manual, I just threw that in there for giggles. Maybe I'll write up a stat block for a souldead drone.
I'm glad folks like this! I'd like to do more in similar veins.

Overall I love the idea of homebrew MC content for D&D, makes it a lot easier for those of us in the hobby who want to run MC themed games.
