[spoileThe creature possessing Neo here, the Curious Cat, is capable of possessing humans that have lost the will to live or that no longer have a purpose in life. It initially intended to break Ruby and possess her, but Neo broke her first and drove her to seemingly commit suicide. However, Neo had tied so much of her continued life and existence to her need for revenge on Ruby that when she finally GOT it she realized that she had nothing left to live for, giving the Cat a perfect opening to adjust its plans and possess HER instead. All so it could use her as a vessel to escape the world they're all stuck in to get revenge on the ones it calls the Makers.[/spoile
