In a world full of magic and other weird sh*t cults are a much bigger problem here.

Some cults are your usual personality cults centered around a charismatic speaker, political cults etc. but uh... sometimes you get actual cults that have the support of an eldritch being...

Such is the case for the Children of Ash and Fire, A cult that worships an ancient elemental being of fire, Impyerno. Texts describe them as a roiling titan of fire, anger burning in their eyes and hunger all consuming, visible in the distance as if a rising sun. Their motivations are a mystery, for how can one assign motives to something so far beyond us. It is said that the towering flame grows brighter as it consumes, and consume it does. Not just the physical, but the intangible as well. One must shudder at the thought of falling into the flames, it may as well burn the very memory of you from this world.

Anyway back to the cult, They are mostly underground and keep hidden. Indoctrination into the cult involves a ceremony where you forsake your past life and memories and surrender them to the fire. They believe that through this ritual they may one day usher Impyerno back into the world.

The Department of Hypnosis and Mind Control is busy dismantling them. They don't usually get their hands dirty with cults, but the moment a cult starts messing with the minds of it's members the DHMC takes that as a free license to consider the whole cult as a hypnotic hazard and will begin damage control.

it's been really hard tracking them tho, alot of the members seem to just appear out of thin air. No legal documents, no family, nothing, only the names they've given themselves or were chosen for them. It's weird.
