The first chapter I had found; I don't remember which it was, was pretty good. But for the most part, the misery porn was more prominent than the actual porn somehow. The majority of this manga just kinda made me sad.

I don't disagree, but I can respect a writer for realizing that they've written a science-fiction story and taking advantage of that.

It's only tangentially a sci-fi series, it's more a dystopian series since the government is kidnapping women who dissent over the new law and literally stripping them of their humanity. they even did it to one of their own agents. And there's one chapter where we see what happens when a "product" breaks the rules.

Glad I'm not the only one miffed by this series. It IS really hot, no doubt, but the misery is so thick. Fan No Hitori's very good at what he does, but sometimes ends up being TOO good.

It's infuriating, because it ALMOST does stuff something I adore in this kind of setting; decent people trying to be good in an h-doujin dystopia. The kendo club guys banding together to buy and save their upperclassmen? That lonely guy buying a sex slave doll and still treating her nicely? That's good shit. Just because it's a rape doujin doesn't mean every guy in it is a rapist.
And then it just stops. The kendo guys turn into evil bastards in the blink of an eye for no reason. The unorthodox couple ends in tragedy just because. In neither case does it feel earned, it just kinda happens, and then it's back to business usual. Because it's misery porn you see.
Very frustrating. I can't really give them credit for the "realizing they've written a science-fiction story" bit because of that.
