He wasn't that great, ultimately. His style never really evolved and he wasn't as prolific as, say, jimryu who also took a very long time to improve but whose output level made up for it, or some of the newer, better folks in the field like Hypnofood or plsgts.
He scratched the right itch at the time (this being fall 2009 when i first joined deviantart, as opposed to February 2010 when i started posting), which was enough, but his specific contributions weren't that great.
