AKA When Starro first showed up(Didn't even have a name at that point). Spectre showed them a timeline of them trying to deal with it as they were. They all got controlled and not only conquered the universe, but used time travel to keep conquering through history.

The solution? Ask Spectre to strip them of them powers temporarily.
