Oh my word this could be brilliant, I noticed that in the panel where all we see is static there are FIVE clicks, and I couldn't help but notice the coincidence that the son gave the mother FIVE commands... It may only be a coincidence, but what if the mother only parroted back the commands to her son, and so now he sees everything he does with his mother as normal?

Ok, so pages 3 and 7 are where you can find the son commanding the mother, in total 5 different bubbles, so 5 different commands, and on the previous page, 21, the very first panel, the upper-left most one, is filled with static, and the word "click" written 5 times.
If we were to take each click as being a separate command,then the mother gave her son five commands, and it's quite possible she repeated the commands he gave her straight back to him... Making every command he gave her actually seem normal to him and not as exciting, but of course I could just be overthinking it.
