Not sure the actual explanation for two widows but considering mind manipulation is already involved I could imagine the "widowmaker" and "Amelie" personalities getting separated into different bodies, Widowmaker being the more dominant one thus hypnotizing Amelie just like the rest of the girls

Or on the flipside maybe after being suppressed in widow so long Amelie wanted to be the one in control now.
