...Why do people keep pairing these two? From what little I've gleaned, they don't get on.

The new series (from what I've seen) has opened up a bit of a love triangle between them and Terra. Mostly for the humor.

Well their comic counterparts were (probably still are) a popular pairing, that is the most likely reason.

Well, as stated by others, it's an opposite attract appeal, but before the New 52 reboot they had dated in canon, quite seriously so. As such in the cartoon these designs are primarily based on, Teen Titans (to which Teen Titans Go! is a comedic sequel), they shared several moments in which they displayed deep understanding, respect and very close friendship that many (such as I) believe are a firm basis for two people to build a relationship on despite their opposing personalities.

In the original comics Beast Boy had a serious interest in Terra who was revealed to be a traitor; Raven on the other hand used her mental powers to trick Kid Flash into falling in love with her.

In the Teen Titans cartoon Raven is type-cast as the kuudere personality type with Beast Boy being her 'love interest' in that he's an idiot, but an endearing idiot who actually takes an interest in her livelihood as opposed to being more interested in Starfire's panties or whatever it is Cyborg does with his free time.
The spin off comic "Teen Titans Go!" (which was the comic based off the cartoon) they maintain this relationship with Raven being a 'voice of reason' character who frequently interacts with Beast Boy due to him lacking any common sense whatsoever.

In the comics following the release of the cartoon Raven and Beast Boy had a brief relationship that meant more to him than it did to her; it was a plain attempt to grab fans of the paring from the show that wasn't very successful.

In the new Teen Titans Go! cartoon; which parodies quiet a bit from both the original comics, the cartoon, and the comics based off the cartoon, Raven & Beast Boy are given a more obvious relationship where Beast Boy has a crush on her and she maybe like him when he's not being a twit.

In the Nu52 Raven spend years being her father's bitch (literally and figurative) so she's a half-insane half-demon who rips the hearts out of siblings to make a point and creeps on Tim Drake and dresses like one of those bird-themed power rangers from the ancient anime.
