Probably not with a spiral. It was convineint for quickly conveying hypnotism, but if I'm going to animate, spirals for me are really about conveying being drawn in or mesmerized(assuming they're not being used as a quick visual tell for the mind control of the day).
With something like a hypnotic lipstick, I'd go with an animation which would be conveying some kind of trippy effects combined with emphasizing key elements(glow around lips and lipstick prints)
Also, if I'm going to animate it I'd want to give it text and that still an area I'm pretty green with.
