It's a episode where someone tries to take the personality of the group, taking their marks and making it = signs, like everyone in town. Everyone has that scary grin on their faces.

the villain literally tried to brainwash them. Like, they were trapped in a small cabin for 2 days without food while loudspeakers blasted propaganda at them, and they were paraded in front of the town each morning to see who would join! It was beautifully Orwellian.
