of course, the reason the snail's eyes swell up normally is not just because they are filled with parasites, but also to make them look like attractive worms to birds, as part of the lifecycle... also, for what its worth, as part of that, the snails are compelled to move up and to the light
.... course, this is more interesting, and much creepier
