Despite appearances, there has been a slight edit made to Catwoman's eyes. ^^'

The edit was made by an artist friend of mine who wishes to remain anonymous so as not to look like a dick. We were discussing the original pic and I mentioned how I'd had Seb alter the eyes in lineart and my friend thought they were still off. So, they went ahead and changed the expression so as to stop Catwoman 'staring', and I have to admit it looks better.

I don't think that's a cool move, bro. Like you can personally tweak other people's art to meet your standards and keep for personal satisfaction. But publicly posting it not only feels like stealing someone else's hard work and putting your own minuscule claim to it, but it publicly shames to artist and says "I don't think you did a good enough job, so I did better".

If this were my art, I'd be livid. Lesser things have caused my art studio to burn business relationships to the ground.

you are on a site with a lot of manippers, if you start saying making manips on others people work is bad ...

you wont survive

ok more seriously i dont see the problem here

i mean, its his commission, he used his money for the page
so if he want to make a little change in it, who care ?

sebastian tag is still here, as well as the link for his gallery
and the change is like 0.05 % of the page

so everything is fine, even if i dont really see the difference in the page to be honest but whatever

I think her expression looks much better now, although this is just a minor change~

And that's kind o' why the friend who made the edit wishes to stay anonymous. I didn't ask them to make the edit, and while I think it looks better than the original expression, I gave Seb no direction to alter that original expression after the initial edit I asked him to make in the lineart. Seb is a FANTASTIC artist and the expression here is well within his capabilities, and the fact is that this is still definitely Seb's pic and my friend would never try to claim otherwise.

However, as the commissioner, I am the one who missed the potential for improvement while Seb was drawing it. My friend then made the edit to show me this missed potential and I felt it worth sharing.

And to be clear, I DID NOT MAKE THIS EDIT. I don't say that to shift the blame, but to point out the fact that if I had made the edit, then it would suck hard.

hey. not sure if it really matters, but we've got super hero tag, but why not a tag for super villians?

I always thought of the superhero tag as being essentially a genre tag like sci-fi or fantasy - "here are characters, items, and scenarios associated with superhero storytelling". The comic book tag is similar but excludes original characters, including things like Madam Kistulot's Midas City setting and so on. So in my mind I always assumed supervillain-only pics would still merit the superhero tag, since they're from the superhero genre.

@Bellchan & solddate :

> implying I care about what my custommers do with the pieces they bought once I gave it to them.

I can understand your indignation here, but that's really not a problem for me. As solddate said, he is the commissionner, and once he bought the pic he can do whatever he wants with it, as long as he doesn't pretend he drew it. Which he didn't. So yeah, no need to argue over that. ^^

I appreciate that attitude in an artist
