Stage 2: The victim pours and eyes start to produce mucus like substance, which also carries the virus. Minor mutations begin, lengthening of the nails, discolouration of the tongue. The victim’s hair begins to clump together due to do excess mucus coming from the skin.
Stage 3: With the virus now having fully infected and begun to mutate its host, it stimulates the pleasure centres of the brain, causing the victim to increasingly less likely to seek help to cure themselves, even encouraging them infecting others. The victim’s teeth are replaced with sharper shark like sets as they begin to crave more, preferably raw, sea food. Further mutations continue, discolouring of the skin and hair being shed, what hair left on the victim begins to merge into tentacle like tendrils.
Stage 4: Total mutation sets in, the victim has been completely regressed by the virus, taking great pleasure in their new form they seem to take great joy in infecting and converting others. All hair is shed, skin now smooth and slimy, clothing discarded. Victims have been observed to mutate other aquatic features such as tentacles and fins. They retain their intelligence but it is unknown to what extent they recall their former selves, or if the virus has taken control of them in its desire to propagate.

The stars are right/there goes the neighborhood.
"You have the Mask of Innsmouth."
I'd be lying if I said this wasn't at least a little Lovecraft inspired.
