Personally I think people are just trigger happy with the tag, course my sensibilities about what counts as nightmare fuel are probably more tolerant than others.

I'm unfortunately one of em. I've been trying to help out the site by throwing on additional tags to some pieces that I figure are either missing them or could fit under a said tag, but yeah with Nightmare Fuel, I realize it's very subjective and can become confusing for what does and does not fit under it, as that would vary between users.

So I do apologize for tagging things that don't quite fit the bill, and I'd appreciate it if someone points any other mistakes I may make in the future, as that helps me learn and adapt and whatnot.

If I may chip in
I think the Nightmare Fuel Tag should be applied to extremely grotesque creatures, implied death, and general squick.
I personally find this image hot, but it's kind of on the edge of squick, and over the line for some people. Nightmare Fuel is one of those tags most people block instead of search and I think it should be applied accordingly...not to mention making it easier for Nightmare Station Attendants to find.

I think Nightmare Fuel should apply only to Creepypasta-tier stuff but <.<
