It's a bit late to the show (mostly 'cos I commissioned it after the month started), but here's my commissioned contribution to 'All-For-Me August'. I mean c'mon, there's now way Chizuru would ever stick to just one.

I believe you're all familiar with DHB's work, please direct praise to him while reserving any criticism for myself.

Idk, maybe the Hōgyoku awakened her Fullbring too... and she knew to keep it secret until the opportune moment came to strike!

EDIT: She ordered an array of hypnotic Spiral Co. devices online, and amazingly, she got some working prototypes!.

No. Fullbring is a manifestation of Hollow power in a living soul. There is literally no indication Chizuru's mother was attacked by a Hollow, so there is no reason to even think she has Fullbring.

I knew someone was gonna make that response. ^^ I was joking, my friend. Personally, I think the entirety of the Fullbring idea is stupid, I don't even get why Masako being attacked meant she needed 'protecting' by magic (trying to use a lil' spoilers as possible). However, the joke was more about the Hōgyoku being able to grant improbable wishes.

Also, when was it ever implied Chad or Orihime's mother were attacked before the revelation about how Fullbrings work? (seriously, I'm not kidding)

I assume you're referring to the incident with White? It wasn't that she "needed protection" it was more along the lines of her Soul was being eaten away from the inside and she needed an "antidote" which was provided by Isshin. She explicitly still had her Quincy powers. The fight with Grand Fisher was simply poor timing, since Ywach stole the powers from all non pure blooded Quincy at that moment, leaving her powerless.

Also, from the very beginning was was pointed out that Chad's powers were different from everyone elses and Hollow in nature. And Orihime's powers were never refered to as Fullbring. Her powers are 100% derived from both Ichigo's Reiatsu and the Hogyoku.

I'm just anal about canon is all, I'm not trying to pick a fight.

Me neither, my friend. I love getting anal about canon... Wait. (but seriously, I do)

Okay, so it's the 'antidote' part I don't get. We've seen several characters be attacked by hollows and not need that. Idk, it just seemed random at the time and even with the apparent Quincy allergy to hollows... meh. As for the Quincy powers, I thought the deal was that she couldn't use them even before Yhwach took 'em back, but again I wouldn't take issue anyway. I just take issue with Yhwach and pretty much everything to do with the Quincy arc.

And while I acknowledge Chad's abilities always being called 'hollow-like', I preferred my delusion that it was more part of being human when exposed to the extreme circumstances (including the Hogyoku influence and Ichigo's reiatsu), same with Orihime. For Orihime, may I please ask where it coming from Ichigo's power and not being a Fullbring is clarified? 'Cos during the Fullbring arc I just got the impression they were implying all three of them were Fullbring.

The reasons she needed an antidote to the Hollow Reiatsu was because she was a Quincy. The Blood War arc explains the reason most Quincy fight with ranged weapons is because Hollow Reiatsu is literally poisonous to them, and exposure will kill them outright (it only hurts normal people).

And about Orihime, Kubo said in an interview that Orihime's powers weren't Fullbring. I didn't follow the anime version of the Fullbring arc that well, since I'll admit it's not my favorite, but in the manga I don't recall any implication of Orihime's power being Fullbring.

I accept the point on Orihime then, but it kinda opens the door to me 'arguing' Chizuru went through the same process for this pic. Obviously, I don't argue this point, it just makes me more rueful of the fact that Tatsuki, Keigo and Mizuiro never got powers.

Can I just ask when the 'Blood War' arc was? 'Cos I don't know if you mean when Ishida first showed up with his hollow lure (if it was then I definitely missed it), or if it was first mentioned when when all shinigami hollowified their Bankai ('cos if it was then, I still say... meh.)

I've felt Kubo's writing has been seriously compromised ever since the build up to Aizen vs Ichigo, and it's been really difficult to accept any new rules he's come out with since. Even the rule about broken Bankais, which I totally accept was hinted at when Ikkaku lost the battle for his pilar. Just the notion of their being a creator of zanpaktou who is a shinigami, or a man whose power is to know & change the names of all things... bleh.
