Kara Zor-El was many things.
One of only a handful of surviving Kryptonians in the universe. On Earth, she was known as the hero Supergirl. To her friends, she was Kara, an angry young woman who just happened to have more destructive power than a nuclear bomb. And now, she was a Red Lantern.
To her fellow Red Lanterns, she was perhaps their greatest warrior; even without her power ring, her strength rivalled any of them, and with the power of her rage unleashed, she was unstoppable. To her cousin Kal-El, she was a failure; someone even he, with all his power, was unable to control. To the Green Lantern corps, she was the most dangerous being in the universe. They feared her, and they were right to.
To Brainiac, however, she was a rarity. A one of a kind item to add to his collection.
He had done his research; Kara Zor-El, for all her power, was weak. Vulnerable. Stupid. When in danger, there was a 98.2% chance that her first reaction would be to try hitting things. She wasn't much of a thinker. He was the most advanced intellect in the universe. Subduing her would be child's play.
The ambus was simple; loiter around the moon of her surrogate homeworld, Earth, and wait. When she returned to bathe in the light of its yellow sun, he attacked. As predicted, she tore through his tendrils and drones. She was strong, fast, invulnerable, capable of spewing heat from her eyes and destructive Red power from her mouth and ring. His attacks were utterly incapable of restraining her, and they were not meant to.
They served as a distraction, keeping Kara's little brain occupied while his vastly superior brain overpowered her own. While physically she was powerful, her mind was weak, and incredibly vulnerable. The second she caught sight of the mind-probe, it overwhelmed her, quelling her thoughts in an instant, rendering her docile and compliant.
She made no further move to resist as his tentacles ensnared her, and when they pulled she happily allowed herself to be led into a stasis pod. And there she would remain, frozen in time, her body preserved, her mind utterly devoid of thought, a silly little grin plastered on her face forever.
She was no longer a superheroine. Or a Red Lantern. Or even a scared, angry little girl screaming around the universe and hitting anything that got in her way.
She was his.
She was an object.
She was content.
She was the pride of his collection.
