The only way for them to get along is for Peridot to learn to overcome her belief in the caste system, her homophobia, her racism, and general outlook.

...Homophobia? Bitch ALL GEMS ARE FEMALE. Homeworld looks down on fusion as a concept, but there is no implication it's due to homophobia. Taking into account what Japser says its because they view it as a weaklings way to become stronger.

You know, I don't even think they see themselves as female, from the point of view of binary sexual organs. Considering that Peridot's questions about Steven's biology never include that he is a "male". He's just another Gem, just one born in very odd circumstances for them.

they are genderless, according to the creators of the show; but they USE female pronouns; as of yet, the only Gem with an actual 'gender' and that uses male pronouns is Steven
