It's meant to be sticking out to the side, as I figured that would make a good "dance" pose. I didn't notice that it looked awkward...

it's okay. I understand. I'm currently in a drawing class, and sometimes have trouble. my current project is foreshortening, the process of making certain things seem further away or up close. like sticking out two arms.

it might help if you try to do some shading. maybe add some cross contours
