... it seems to be Zael/Elza's Gathering power. In the game his right hand glows blue and it causes him to agro all enemy attention by overriding their common sense...

...Wish I hadn't lost my copy of The Last Story...amazing fuckin game.

But yeah, as Toxic Thunder said. The main character has the power to force enemies to attack him. In game it's only used in combat, but no limits are ever explicitly placed on it.

I'm stuck against the robot that clones itself and explodes the fake ones. Haven't played it in a while, but I'd still almost rather do that then the mirror-clones again. Killing my allies was the fastest way...

True that limits aren't really placed though. Even human opponents or ones that seem like they should have reasonably strong will all become compelled to attack, so it's kind of interesting to become the tank. Just a shame the crossbow is more of a secondary form of combat other than sniping mages or hitting archers off pedestals.

Storywise though, it railroaded pretty hard. Finding that the random person hiding from guards in rags was actually the princess was so easy I did it the moment I saw the raggedy cloak. The coliseum might have been more fun if there was more levels to it.

To be honest EoD I'd let you buy it probably; I likely won't play it again and since my brother transferred all the data from the Wii to the WiiU and the latter is his alone, it'd be difficult enough to find the time to beat it.

About the crossbow, it's entirely possible to grind it to insane levels of power. That one shadow boss has the chance to give you a stupidly powerful crossbow if you don't beat him too quickly (otherwise you get the sniper crossbow which isn't as good). That crossbow + farming the feathers in that one alley = Stupidly powerful ranged damage.

And it's a shame you don't have the time to get around to beating it. The final act of the game is pretty good.
