It looks like you have a light set up underneath the face casting shadows upward, as a general rule of thumb that usually makes faces look discomforting and menacing even, think of campfire stories and holding a light under your face to make you look spooky. Maybe if you still have trouble try to take focus away from the face somehow. Your final render looks good from a technical stand point at least.

Also, always touch up in photoshop, ALWAYS.
