Long and uninteresting explanation inbound (spoilers to save space): that segment was a very small piece of a much larger project called the Stolen Starhearts that I started brainstorming about a year and a half ago. Thing is, it got too big (like twenty chapters just for the Pokemon chunk of the story, and the four pages I posted were only a quarter of one chapter), and I didn't want to cut anything. The more I thought about it and the more I kicked the project around and revised it and put it off, the more I realized I didn't want to devote that much time and energy on characters I didn't own for a project I could never truly call my own. So I finally came to the epiphany that, when the Stolen Starhearts comes back, I'll be using original characters. Many of the characters and worlds will be pretty recognizable parodies. The best comparison I can think of is how Venture Brothers parodies superhero and classic cartoon culture; I'll just be doing that to certain video game worlds in a fetish / sexual adventure setting. I know a lot of people will be disappointed at first that I'm not using familiar Pokegirls, and I'll certainly miss a lot of the Pokemon-specific references I had planned. But ultimately using OCs clears up a ton of uncertainty I had about the project and really lets me cut loose with doing things my own way, rather than simply tacking on questionable personality changes to preexisting characters.

(accidentally said 'uninterested' earlier instead of 'uninteresting,' my fault. The former might send the wrong message ^^;)
