Hi guys, today finished viewing the movie Bayonetta and found a curious scene when Bayonetta enters the left eye of Jubileu, she seems hypnotized.

Is there a difference?... I'm not sure I follow. Even instant hypnosis from something looking at you funny usually counts as hypnosis, I see no reason why this case would be much different.

Trance is the state that you enter into, hypnosis is the method of putting you into a trance. Unless she did a hypnotic induction(you are getting sleepy...) it's not hypnosis. Magic cell phones put people into a trance but they don't hypnotize them, you could just call it mind control.
