Crystal is trash. I have reviewed both and Crystal is just not very good....evenn without comparing it to the classic masterpiece

Eh. That Saban Moon or whatever people call it at least had the potential of a "So bad it's good" Crystal however....is a dull and forgettable experience at best.

I'm going to echo the sentiments about Sailor Moon Crystal being total garbage.

The original anime may have taken liberties a-plenty, turned Mars into a bitchy tsundere, gave the show a more "slightly goofy sentai series" feeling overall, and other things like that, but to be perfectly honest, not really all those changes were necessarily for the worse when it comes to what an anime probably has to be.

It's different from Naoko's manga for sure, but for an anime series, it all works. The character designs were vastly improved from Naoko's "anemic twigs with maybe 3 slightly different expressions", and in my opinion, in the transition to a goofier Super Sentai feel changed from the manga's romantic melodrama feel, came more personality, much better character designs, radically expressive characters and faces, and was really memorable, overall.

Crystal is truer to it's source material in some ways, not in other ways, but Crystal is so damned dull and bland, and emotionless of a show. Not to mention the art and animation are both catastrophically bad. Speaking as a life-long fan of Sailor Moon, I greatly enjoy the original anime, but I suffered most of the way through the first Crystal series, and felt like I absolutely wasted my time on it.

I heard it gets better, but from a foundation like this, to me it can only feel like trying to polish a turd.
