i assume it's what's doing the hypnosis, however, it's locaton and semi transparency is more a matter of perspective, as if we're directly behind it, and it's transparent to show the rest of erza.

Then I recommend the spinoff Fairy Tail Girls. Has the good parts of Fairy Tail without the expectations that are consistently let down by the main series lately.
Oh, and these three girls get mind controlled twice within the first 10 chapters. The second one is pretty freaking nice if I do say so myself, they wear fetish maid gear :P
