[spoiler=Plot Breakdown]Overlord is a series about Momonga, who plays the Virtual Reality MMORPG Yggdrasil for years and is a member of one of the top guilds (called "Ainz Ooal Gown") in the entire game, but everyone eventually moved on and the game is to be shut down. On the last day Momonga stays logged in until the very end, but finds that he wasn't logged out; he has been sent to a different world along with his entire Guild HQ and all the Guild's NPCs have gained sentience and personalities according to their in-game settings.

Also, his entire guild consisted of solely non-human monsters - Momonga is an Overlord of Death skeletal Mage and the NPCs are vampires, demons, insect people, slimes, succubi, undead and more!

Momonga thinks that since he and all his NPCs are here, other Yggdrasil players could be here too, including his guild mates. Momonga declares to the NPCs that they will spread the name of Ainz Ooal Gown to all corners of the world and find his guild mates; they set out to conquer the world![/spoiler]

Overlord is absolutely one of my favourite series with how everything is developed and how well-structured the plot is. Think of it like a mix of Berserk and Log Horizon. Now is also a great time to get into the series, since the 12th volume of the light novel comes out this month.

Edit: Forgot to mention one of the best parts of the novels is So-Bin's art. Absolutely gorgeous. Whenever I see his art on the cover or leading into a chapter it just blows me away and gets me even more excited for what's to follow.

I recently watchted the first season of the anime and it is amazing. I do plan to read the novels later but the anime was great.

A mix of Berserk and Log Horizon pretty spot on description.

Overlord is a pretty good series and I like it for obvious reasons. This was probably one of my favorite scenes in the whole show, though. Brita is super cute.

I think people liked Brita a lot more than the author ever expected since she went from a throwaway character to a recurring minor character. Always nice to see how characters adapt after a big plot point.
